Official Lincoln County criminal records must be requested from the office that holds them. The county's main records offices are concentrated at the Lincoln County Courthouse in Hamlin, but the sheriff, Circuit Clerk, and Magistrate Clerk maintain different files. Booking records are held by the state regional-jail system, and fingerprint-based criminal histories come through the West Virginia State Police and IdentoGO.

This Is Not a Government Office. This private reference site cannot retrieve, certify, correct, or remove a record. It cannot run an official background check or receive a court filing.

The official county site lists courthouse public hours as Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Its central number is 304-824-7990. The county and Judiciary listings publish different Circuit Clerk extensions, so use the central line if an extension fails. A targeted West Virginia Freedom of Information Act request to the sheriff can begin by telephone, mail, or at the courthouse counter.
